I'm just home from school and am checking in right now on what today's pick C.J. Miles is doing.
Unfortunately
it wasn’t what I’d hoped for. It’s the fourth quarter and they've yet to bring Miles back in for his second second half stint and I'm trying to find something positive to say, but 22 minutes, two points on 1-0f-5 shooting, two rebounds, one assist and one block wasn't what I was hoping for. This is a great game by the way, currently tied with five minutes to go.
I just went to check out my favorite site, The Fantasy Lounge, and saw this article which has opened my eyes. The revelations uncovered in it will keep my upcoming picks interesting for at least a few days. Guys like Chris Wilcox, Thabo Seflosha and Rashad McCants have all come into play. And one guy affected by the trade deadline, who didn't move, doesn't have to miss any games and he's likely the sleeper to add for tomorrow. Without further adieu...
Aaron Brooks - Houston (15% Ownership)
You should know the match up because it was the subject of today's original picks: The Battle of Texas. With Rafer Alston on his way to Orlando and Kyle Lowry still in trade limbo look for Brooks to see between 35 - 40 minutes and I know he can get at least
20 points, two treys and five assists with that. If he's available now in your league you need to add him for tomorrow's match up and likely beyond. It remains to be seen whether he or Lowry will get the bulk of point guard minutes, but, like I've already said, he's got worlds of talent and we've been waiting so long for him to get out of Alston's shadow, we should hold on to him until we see how it's going to shake out. This will likely be the only game he has for a while without Lowry in a Houston uniform. When he's started this year, Brooks has seen upward of 37 minutes and averaged 13.7 points, two 3-pointers, 4.7 rebounds, four assists and 0.9 steals. So far against Dallas this year, the little man is averaging 14.5 points, two treys and three assists...in just over 20 minutes. I'm not saying Wafer or Wright won't be big for you tomorrow, especially Wafer now, but Brooks could be huge.
