Fred Jones — LAC (3% Ownership), DeAndre Jordan — LAC (3% Ownership)
Game: Golden State @ Los Angeles, 10:30 EST
You know,
I'm not even going to make a big deal out of it anymore. Like I do in all of my real
leagues I'm going to exploit the easiest fantasy defense in the league. Don't
care that they happen to be my team because there's no such thing as team loyalty in fantasy
and there's not room for weakness. That's why Jones is impossible for me to pass up in
this one. Not to mention he's hot, having averaged 30 minutes and
scored in double digits in each of his
last three games. In Baron Davis' first game against his old team look for him to try to take over and hopefully Jones can play Robin to his Batman. Jones will likely see 25 - 30 minutes in this one and try to get up and run against a fast-paced Warriors squad.
(A few hours later) Who am I kidding? Jones isn't going to break me out of this funk. I'm writing this at like 10 p.m. before game night, so this is after the fact, but if I could change my pick I'd likely go with DeAndre Jordan in the same game. He should be available on most wires and isn't the type of player who usually has success against the Warriors due to his likely inability to keep up with their fast-paced style and thus stay in the game. But he's coming off of two very good games and I could see him getting some burn in this one as the Clippers might have little place elsewhere to turn. His success is contingent on one very big IF, which is a 50-50, that Marcus Camby misses this game. If he gets a chance at big minutes he could pull down close to 20 boards. If you've been watching the Warriors all season you'd know that's not as outlandish a feat as it seems.
