How does that old maxim go? "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." With those words in mind, my first returning Sleeper of the Day is....
Leon Powe — Boston, 5% Ownership (still)
Game: Boston @ LA Clippers, 10:30 p.m. EST
A couple things have changed since I last wrote about (my boy) Powe. A game happened. A game in which Brian Scalabrine strained his neck, allowing Powe to see nearly 30 minutes Monday night. Powe did pretty well for himself going up against a depleted Denver squad. If he repeats that performance, this prediction will be a success.
He supplanted Scalabrine at power forward for 16 points, five boards, two assists and a steal. I like Powe in this match-up against L.A. because the Clips just got back Zach Randolph and Marcus Camby from injury. With those two prolific rebounders in their lineup, the Celtics will need someone working hard for them in the paint. Expect Kendrick Perkins, Glen "Big Baby" Davis and Powe all to play significant roles in this one. But know that Powe has the most overall fantasy potential of the three. Despite Scalabrine's prospects for seeing the floor in this one, I like Powe for all those reasons.
